Allegations of Favoritism in Pebbair Municipality Road Work

Residents of Pebbair Municipality have raised concerns about favoritism in the ongoing road and drainage construction. They claim that municipal officials and contractors have changed the planned width of the main road leading to Wanaparthy, benefiting some areas while neglecting others.

The drainage project, which started recently from Jurala Canal to Subhash Chowrasta, includes the construction of an 80-foot-wide road (40 feet on each side). However, while the road was initially marked as 40 feet wide from Subhash Chowk to High School Road (Rythu Bhavan), it was unexpectedly reduced to 35 feet beyond High School Road. Officials have not provided a clear explanation for this change.

Residents suspect that the Municipality AE, town planner, and contractor are working together to allow private constructions in the setback area instead of maintaining the original road width. They believe this is unfair and affects the planned development of the road.

People are also worried about the lack of proper supervision over the drainage work. Despite multiple complaints, officials have reportedly claimed they are monitoring the project remotely through phone calls rather than visiting the site.

In response to these issues, residents have filed a complaint with Additional Collector (Local Bodies), Sanchit Gangwar. They are urging authorities to ensure the road maintains its full 40-foot width and to prevent unauthorized constructions in the designated road area.
