    State government aims to expand horticulture crop cultivation

    A Kisan Agri Show and a three-day workshop titled “Innovative Technologies in Horticulture Crops Production and Value Addition” began on Friday at the Hitex Convention Centre. This event was organized by the Telangana Horticulture Officers’ Association and Kisan Team, in collaboration with the State Horticulture Department.

    Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao inaugurated the event. The show features innovative ideas and techniques related to crop production, aiming to help farmers adopt easy and effective methods for growing fruit crops.

    Several important officials attended the inauguration, including Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Vice Chancellor of Telangana Horticultural University Dr. Danda Raji Reddy, Agriculture Director Gopi, Horticulture Additional Director Sarojini, and Joint Director Babu. Speaking at the event, the Minister highlighted the importance of such exhibitions in introducing new farming techniques that benefit farmers.

    He also mentioned that the government is taking steps to expand horticulture farming in Telangana. The goal is to not only make the state self-sufficient in crop production but also enable farmers to increase their yields so they can export their produce to other countries.

    The Minister emphasized the government’s support for farmers to adopt new farming techniques. He also encouraged the development of food processing at the village level using value addition methods. He urged officials from the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments to work together to help farmers improve their skills and become financially independent.

    The event was also attended by Horticultural Officers’ Association President Chakrapani, Vice President Saibaba, Secretary Narsayya, and Ranga Reddy District Horticulture Officers Suresh and Kamala.
