Telangana IT Minister Announces Rs 500 Crore Investment by HC Robotics
Telangana’s IT & Industries Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, has announced a major investment in the state. HC Robotics, a subsidiary of Centillion Networks, will invest Rs 500 crore, further strengthening Telangana’s reputation as a hub for technology and innovation. This investment is expected to create more job opportunities for the state’s youth.
At a press conference held at the Secretariat on Friday, the Minister shared details about the investment alongside representatives from the company. He stated that Centillion Networks and HC Robotics, headquartered in Hyderabad, operate in nine countries and specialize in drone technology, robotics, telecommunications, and aerospace software. The company currently employs 2,000 professionals, and with this new investment, it plans to create 500 new jobs this year and expand employment opportunities to 2,000 over the next three years.
Expanding IT Beyond Hyderabad
Until now, most IT investments in Telangana have been focused on Hyderabad. However, the government is now working to expand opportunities to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This will help talented youth in smaller towns access quality jobs in the IT sector.
“We are committed to taking the IT industry beyond Hyderabad. Companies are being encouraged to invest in smaller cities to create new job opportunities. Centillion Networks has already started operations in Karimnagar, and more companies are following this trend,” the Minister said.
Telangana as an Investment Destination
The Minister also highlighted Telangana’s success in attracting investments at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Out of 18 agreements signed last year, 17 are already in progress, with 10 achieving over 50% implementation. This year, investments worth Rs 1.8 lakh crore have been secured.
He criticized the opposition for spreading misinformation and trying to hinder progress. “Unlike the opposition, which engages in baseless propaganda, we are focused on real development. We will continue implementing effective policies, including those from the previous government, to ensure industrial growth,” he said.
Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Centillion Networks Chairman & MD Venkat, Director Radha Kishore, and India Operations Head Sudhakar were also present at the event.
