Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader A Revanth Reddy has urged party legislators to stay united and focus on winning the upcoming MLC and local body elections. His call comes amid reports of the BJP gaining strength in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Speaking at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at the MCR HRD Institute, Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of party unity. He advised MLAs not to express their grievances publicly but instead discuss issues with ministers. If problems remained unresolved, he assured them they could escalate matters to him or even the party high command if necessary.

With the BRS choosing not to contest the MLC elections, the main competition will be between Congress and the BJP. Revanth Reddy warned party members not to underestimate their opponents. He encouraged them to promote key Congress initiatives such as the caste census and SC categorization to strengthen the party’s position. He also cautioned that while the BRS is not participating, it may still run a negative campaign against government schemes, which Congress leaders should counter effectively.

The Chief Minister urged party MLAs and leaders to step up their grassroots campaigns by personally reaching out to voters in villages and mandals. He highlighted the government’s promise to implement 46% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections.
