Collector Launches ‘Knocking on the Doors of Students’ Program
In an effort to ensure 100% success in the upcoming 10th Grade exams, Yadadri Bhongiri District Collector Hanumantha Rao started the ‘Knocking on the Doors of Students’ program on Thursday. The initiative was launched at Deshyathanda in Kankanalagudem Grama Panchayat, located in Sansthan Narayanapuram Mandal.
As part of the program, the Collector personally visited the home of Devarakonda Bharat Chandrachari, a 10th-grade student at ZP School in the Mandal center. Arriving at 5:30 am, he spoke with Bharat’s mother, Vijayalakshmi, and interacted with the student to understand his needs.
During the visit, the Collector noticed that Bharat was suffering from malnutrition. To support him, he announced that he would personally provide Rs 5,000 per month for Bharat’s well-being and handed over the first installment immediately. He also gifted Bharat a study chair, notebooks, pens, and a flask. Additionally, he promised to adopt him and support his education.
Bharat shared his dream of becoming a police officer. Encouraging him, the Collector arranged a conversation between Bharat and a police officer present at the visit. This interaction aimed to inspire Bharat and motivate him toward his goal.
Bharat’s mother also mentioned the family’s struggles, including the need for housing and help with utility bills. In response, the Collector assured her that she would receive a two-bedroom house, providing much-needed relief to the family.
Showing further community support, former MPTC member Sivarathi Kavithavidyasagar stepped in to help Bharat’s family. He pledged to provide a bicycle for Bharat’s daily commute to school and other essential items. Additionally, he promised Rs 5,000 per month for the next three months to further assist them.
This initiative by the Collector and community members aims to provide students like Bharat with the necessary support to excel in their studies and achieve their dreams.
