    GHMC Commissioner Orders Quick Resolution of Public Complaints

    Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner K Ilambarithi has instructed officials to address public grievances received during the Prajavani programme without delay. He emphasized that there will be no tolerance for delays in resolving these issues.

    The Commissioner attended the Prajavani programme at the GHMC headquarters on Monday, where he listened to the concerns of citizens from across the city. He carefully reviewed each complaint and directed officials to take immediate action.

    During the programme, GHMC received a total of 134 complaints from citizens. Out of these, 44 complaints were registered at the GHMC headquarters. The Town Planning Department received the highest number of complaints (22), followed by the Tax and FA departments (4 each), the Engineering (Maintenance) department (3), and the Sanitation, Veterinary, Estates, and Housing departments (2 each). Additionally, the Land Acquisition, Admin, and UBD departments received one complaint each.

    Apart from the headquarters, 86 complaints were submitted across six GHMC zones. The Kukatpally zone recorded the highest number of complaints (45), followed by the Serilingampally zone (20), the Secunderabad zone (10), the Charminar zone (6), the LB Nagar zone (4), and the Khairtabad zone (1). The Prajavani phone-in programme also received four requests, which were forwarded to the respective departments.

    The Commissioner directed officials to prioritize public concerns and provide written responses to complainants, specifying timelines for resolving their grievances. Citizens presented their issues to the Commissioner, Town Planning officials, and Additional Commissioners.

    Several senior officials attended the programme, including Additional Commissioners Shiva Kumar Naidu, Yadagiri Rao, and Geetha Radhika, along with other key GHMC officers from various departments.

    Mayor Visits Hafizpet Ward to Address Local Issues

    Earlier in the day, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi visited Hafizpet ward to assess local issues. She emphasized the city’s commitment to resolving sanitation, drainage, and other long-standing problems in different neighbourhoods.

    During her visit, the Mayor inspected various colonies and took steps to improve sanitation and prevent dog infestations. She also directed officials to prepare proposals for road widening, stormwater drainage, and park development in the RTC colony.

    Additionally, the Mayor inspected flood prevention work in Navodaya Colony and Central University areas. She assured residents that efforts would be made to address their concerns by working closely with senior officials and local corporators.
