A stunning replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir has become a major attraction at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, drawing thousands of devotees each day. This intricate structure, designed and crafted by renowned Tollywood Art Director Ramana Vanka, offers visitors a chance to experience the divine presence of Lord Ram even if they cannot visit the original temple in Ayodhya.

The replica, located at the sacred Triveni Sangam where the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet, is an architectural masterpiece. Built using traditional Indian techniques and materials, it reflects India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. Remarkably, Ramana relied solely on his imagination and creative expertise to design the structure, as he has never visited the original Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Creating this breathtaking installation was no small task. A team of 110 skilled carpenters and technicians worked tirelessly to bring Ramana’s vision to life. Construction began on December 29 and was completed by January 22. Materials like bamboo, foam sheets, and fiber were used, with bamboo serving as the primary structural element. The replica, half the size of the original temple, stands at an impressive 81 feet tall.

Despite challenges, including adverse weather and the complexity of securing the towering bamboo framework, the team overcame every obstacle. Ramana, who also serves as President of the Telugu Cine Art Directors Association, expressed his gratitude, saying, “With Lord Ram’s blessings, we completed the temple on time and made every effort to incorporate key architectural features of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.”

This temporary structure, serving as a centerpiece of the Maha Kumbh Mela, will be dismantled in March. However, its impact on devotees has been profound, offering a unique opportunity for those unable to visit Ayodhya to connect with the divine.

Ramana Vanka is well-known for his contributions to art and cinema, including his work on the National Award-winning film Shatamanam Bhavati. With this latest creation, he continues to demonstrate his artistic brilliance while leaving a lasting mark on both spiritual and cultural landscapes.
