    Jogulamba Gadwal Police Rescue 43 Child Laborers Under Operation Smile-XI

    The Jogulamba Gadwal police conducted special raids throughout January as part of Operation Smile-XI, aimed at eradicating child labor. These efforts led to the rescue of 43 children who were found working in violation of child labor laws. Two cases were registered in connection with these violations, as shared by District SP T. Srinivas Rao, IPS.

    From January 1 to January 31, the police carried out extensive inspections at locations such as bike repair shops, grocery stores, hotels, dhabas, restaurants, industries, and agricultural fields. During these inspections, they identified 43 child laborers, including 11 girls and 32 boys. The rescued children were handed over to the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) for further care and rehabilitation.

    In addition to rescuing child laborers, the police counseled 183 school dropouts and their parents. These children were subsequently re-enrolled in schools to ensure they continue their education. The SP emphasized the importance of education and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone employing child laborers.

    The SP also encouraged parents to prioritize their children’s education and well-being to secure a brighter future for them. He urged citizens to report any instances of child labor by calling Dial 100 or the Childline helpline at 1098.
