Hyderabad Police Face Challenges with Limited Force but Excel in Duties
City Police Commissioner CV Anand highlighted the challenges of managing security in Hyderabad with just 16,000 police personnel. Despite these constraints, he praised the dedication and commitment of the police force in serving the city effectively. Speaking on Friday, he congratulated officers for their exceptional performance and contributions, particularly those recognized in the Mega Reward Programme 2024.
The Hyderabad police organized the Mega Reward Programme to honor outstanding efforts in solving cases. A total of 706 officers and staff members were acknowledged for their significant contributions in detection, apprehensions, and case resolutions. The awardees included six additional DCPs, 13 ACPs, 73 Inspectors, 83 Sub-Inspectors, 12 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 86 head constables, 334 constables, 29 home guards, 64 ministerial staff, and six public prosecutors or assistant public prosecutors.
Recognizing the growing challenges in the fields of cybercrime and complex investigations, Commissioner Anand also introduced the Commissioner’s Trophy. This award celebrates the achievements of special investigation teams. For 2024, the trophy for the best investigation team was given to EOW I of the Central Crime Station (CCS), led by ACP Y Harish Kumar, Inspector D Ram Babu, and Sub-Inspectors S Ravi Kumar and B Jayanth.
Similarly, the best investigation team in Cyber Crimes was led by Inspector K Madhusudhan Rao, along with Sub-Inspectors K Venkatesh and Ch Mahipal. These teams were honored for their exceptional work in solving critical cases, showcasing the Hyderabad police’s commitment to tackling modern challenges effectively.
