Hyderabad: Political Tensions Rise as GHMC Term Nears End
Political activity is intensifying in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) as the governing body’s four-year term comes to a close on February 11. With only a few days left, major political parties are gearing up for a critical GHMC Council meeting scheduled to take place tomorrow.
Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has been holding discussions with Congress corporators to plan their strategies for the upcoming meeting. At the same time, BJP corporators have gathered under the leadership of MP G. Kishan Reddy and BJP state president G. Lakshman to prepare their action plan. In addition, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has already conducted meetings with senior party leaders within the GHMC.
Adding to the tension, there is speculation that a no-confidence motion against the Mayor and Deputy Mayor could be introduced by the opposition after February 11. As political alliances and strategies continue to evolve, tomorrow’s meeting is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of GHMC governance.
