    Gadwal: Deadline Set for Double-Bedroom Housing Project

    District Collector B.M. Santosh has instructed officials to complete the construction of pending double-bedroom houses within 15 days. He urged them to expedite the process and ensure the houses are handed over to beneficiaries as soon as possible.

    On Tuesday, a review meeting was held at the IDOC Conference Hall to assess the progress of the housing project in Parumala and Gonupadu villages. During the meeting, the Collector emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines and directed officials to take all necessary measures to finish the work promptly.

    The Collector highlighted the need to complete essential infrastructure such as water supply, electricity connections, drainage systems, septic tanks, cleanliness, and landscaping. He stressed that these facilities must be ready before handing over the houses.

    He also mentioned that while some beneficiaries have already been identified, the remaining selection process should be carried out through a fair lottery system, following government guidelines.

    Additionally, the Collector instructed the issuance of show-cause notices to officials from the Electricity and Housing Departments who failed to attend the meeting.

    Key officials present at the meeting included Additional Collectors Lakshminarayana and Narsinga Rao, Irrigation Executive Engineer Sreedhar Reddy, Panchayat Raj DE Laxman, Electricity AE Srinivas, and Deputy Tahsildar Karunakar. Their participation underlined the importance of inter-departmental coordination to complete the project successfully.
