Former MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy Felicitates Retired Municipal Council Members
In Bhupalapally, former MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy attended a ceremony to honor members of the Bhupalpalli Municipal Council who retired after serving the public for five years. The event was a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and contributions.
During the ceremony, Gandra shared his thoughts on public service. He noted that while positions are temporary, the legacy one leaves behind in the hearts of people is what truly matters. He encouraged the council members to focus on work that benefits the community and avoids causing harm to others.
Gandra also reflected on significant achievements during his tenure as an MLA. He expressed pride in ensuring clean drinking water for every household in Bhupalpalli Municipality through the Mission Bhagiratha program, implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR. He spoke about his efforts to transform Bhupalpalli from a small village into a thriving district center by seizing every opportunity for development.
Addressing infrastructure challenges, Gandra highlighted the issue of heavy traffic and accidents caused by the National Highway running through the town center. He mentioned that, with the cooperation of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Chief Minister KCR, a bypass road was sanctioned, and its survey was completed. He also talked about providing registered house titles to residents of Subhash Colony, Yadav Colony, and Krishna Colony through Government Order 76.
Gandra criticized attempts by the Endowments Department to take control of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, which he said was built for the welfare of the people. He described these efforts as politically motivated and conspiratorial.
Despite facing obstacles and challenges, Gandra expressed his gratitude to the councilors who stood by him and supported the BRS party. He honored the retiring councilors and co-option members with garlands and shawls as a token of appreciation.
The event saw the participation of representatives, leaders, activists, youth, and members of the Gandra Yuva Sena, along with other BRS party supporters from Bhupalpalli town and mandal.
