Hyderabad, January 23, 2025: In a move that has left the community shaken, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), with the support of local police, demolished the wheelchair ramp at Dr. Sayani’s Clinic, a facility that has been serving individuals with physical and mental disabilities for over 65 years. The ramp, which had been in place for nearly two decades, was torn down without any prior notice, leaving patients who rely on it for access stranded and in distress.

The removal has caused significant disruption for patients, many of whom depend on the ramp for their mobility. With no clear alternative in place, the clinic now faces immense challenges in providing care to those who need it most. The lack of communication from both the GHMC and the police has sparked outrage, raising serious concerns about the treatment of vulnerable individuals.

Disability advocates are demanding immediate action to restore the ramp or provide an alternative solution. They are also calling for better communication and accountability from the authorities to prevent such distressing incidents in the future.
