Chief Secretary Pushes for Roadblocks Clearance for New Osmania General Hospital
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has instructed officials to address all road hurdles hindering the construction of the New Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in the Goshamahal area. She emphasized the importance of resolving these issues promptly to ensure smooth progress.
During a review meeting held at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary evaluated the status of various development projects. The projects under review included the construction of High Court Buildings, Telangana Bhavan, Osmania Hospital, the Regional Ring Road (North), Indira Mahila Shakti Buildings, and Young India Integrated Residential Schools. Senior officials from different departments participated in the discussions.
Regarding the New Osmania General Hospital, Santhi Kumari reviewed plans for hospital infrastructure, academic buildings, and residential and service zones. She directed the Hyderabad Collector to conduct a joint inspection with officials from the revenue, civil supplies, and police departments to address issues related to relocating petrol bunks in the area.
The Chief Secretary also highlighted the progress of Indira Mahila Shakti Buildings, stating that construction for 16 buildings is already underway. She added that work on six more buildings will begin within a week, with all structures expected to be completed by the end of September.
In connection with Young India Integrated Residential Schools, she instructed the Secretary of Education to finalize plans for the schools’ administration and academic structure. Additionally, officials from the Telangana State Education Women and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TEWIDC) were asked to submit proposals for strengthening the corporation’s engineering wing.
The meeting also included discussions on the proposed Telangana Bhavan and the status of land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road project. Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary R&B Vikas Raj, Advisor to Government Srinivas Raju, Principal Secretary Revenue Navin Mittal, Principal Secretary Health Christina Zongthu, and Secretary Education Yogita Rana, were present at the meeting.
