Hyderabad to Get Underground Power Cables for Better City View
Hyderabad is set to undergo a major transformation as the Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) begins replacing overhead power lines with underground cables. This move aims to improve the city’s aesthetic appeal and modernize its infrastructure.
Following Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s directions, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Ali Faruqui announced that the company has started identifying qualified parties to carry out the project. The underground cabling system is expected to enhance the reliability of the power supply network, improve public safety, and make city operations more efficient.
The project also aims to position Hyderabad as a global city by improving its overall appearance and infrastructure. To achieve this, TGSPDCL is inviting companies with proven experience in underground cabling projects in other large cities or countries to participate in the Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
By implementing this initiative, Hyderabad is taking a significant step toward creating a safer, more efficient, and visually appealing urban environment.
