Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) announced on Friday that the Health Minister, C. Damodar Raja Narsimha, has promised to take swift action on their key demands. These include resolving issues like pending stipends, tax exemptions, and the release of scholarships.
During a meeting with the Health Minister, T-JUDA representatives, Dr. Rahul Kommu and Dr. Isaac Newton, raised concerns about the delay in stipend payments. The Minister expressed his concern over this issue, especially since the government had already issued orders for payments. He assured the representatives that immediate steps would be taken to address the problem.
The junior doctors also brought up the issue of stipend hikes. They submitted a formal request to the Health Minister, who agreed to pass it on to the Health Secretary for further review and action.
On the matter of tax exemptions for stipends, the Health Minister stated that he would look into the possibility of exempting stipends from taxes and explore viable solutions. He also assured the doctors that he would investigate the delay in scholarship reimbursements and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
Additionally, concerns about salary delays for contract assistant and associate professors were discussed. The Health Minister promised to address this issue promptly to ensure timely payments for the affected staff.
