Turmeric Board Begins Operations in Nizamabad
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced the launch of the Turmeric Board in Nizamabad, which begins its operations today. This marks an important step aimed at supporting turmeric farmers and improving their livelihoods.
The minister highlighted that the Turmeric Board will play a key role in boosting farmers’ growth by opening up better opportunities and providing stronger support. For now, the board will operate using funds from the Spices Board. However, Piyush Goyal assured that dedicated funds for the Turmeric Board will be allocated in the upcoming Union Budget.
Looking ahead, the minister revealed an ambitious plan to double turmeric production within two years. He also shared that the government will work to increase the use of turmeric in Ayurvedic medicines, which is expected to raise demand for the crop.
These efforts are aimed at empowering turmeric farmers in Telangana and other regions, paving the way for a brighter future in the agricultural sector.
