Farmers in the Alampur constituency, especially those relying on the RDS Tummilla project, are facing difficulties due to a long-term shortage of irrigation water. This water scarcity has created significant challenges for agriculture in the region.
To address the issue, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao stepped in and held discussions with the Engineers-in-Chief (ENC) from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He stressed the urgency of the situation and directed officials to take immediate steps to resolve the problem.
Minister Jupally also announced that he would meet with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy later in the day. His goal is to speed up the process of releasing water to the farmers within the next couple of days.
In addition, Dr. S.A. Sampath Kumar, AICC Secretary and former MLA, assured the farmers of Alampur not to lose hope. He expressed confidence that water would be released soon, helping farmers resume their agricultural activities without further delays.
