Hyderabad: Former special chief secretary of the municipal administration and urban development department, Arvind Kumar, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday in connection with the Formula-E case.
The senior IAS officer arrived at the ED regional office at around 11 am. This is not his first appearance in the case, as he had previously been questioned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The ACB had recorded his statement as part of their investigation. The ED’s probe is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following an FIR filed by the ACB.
The ED is also looking into potential violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) related to the case. On Wednesday, former chief engineer of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), BLN Reddy, was questioned by the ED for nine hours as part of the ongoing investigation.
