    Hyderabad: MLC T Jeevan Reddy has called for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to be honored with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. He credited Dr. Singh’s economic reforms for transforming India into a global economic powerhouse.

    Speaking to the media at the CLP office on Saturday, Jeevan Reddy highlighted Dr. Manmohan Singh’s pivotal role in steering India’s economy in the right direction. He also praised the former PM for introducing significant initiatives such as the farm loan waiver, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the Right to Information Act, and the establishment of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

    Jeevan Reddy further acknowledged the late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao for recognizing Dr. Singh’s intelligence and appointing him as Finance Minister. He stated that awarding Dr. Singh the Bharat Ratna would also serve as a recognition of Narasimha Rao’s vision and efforts.
