Controversy Over Court Complex Site in Jogulamba Gadwal

The construction of the Jogulamba Gadwal District Court Complex has stirred controversy due to discrepancies in land allocation. The land designated for the court in Survey Number 368 of Poodur outskirts is reportedly being shown under a different survey number. Despite raising the issue with the District Collector, no action has been taken so far.

Senior advocate and political leader G. Venkatadri Reddy emphasized the Congress Party’s responsibility in securing the proper site. Mohan Rao, President of the Senior Citizen Forum, backed this stance and expressed confidence in the support of Congress MP Dr. Mallu Ravi and party in-charge Saritha Tirupatayya. The Gadwal Bar Association also thanked Mohan Rao for his consistent support in their protests.

    Congress Pledges Support

Mohan Rao declared that the Congress Party would take full responsibility for ensuring the court complex is built on a suitable site. He criticized the current land allocation as inappropriate and assured that Congress leaders would fight for justice alongside the local community.

    BRS Party Joins the Movement

Baligera Hanumanthu, a senior BRS Party leader, reiterated his party’s support for the advocates’ protests. He pointed out that 95% of the advocates demand the court complex be constructed in the BJP Colony, which they believe is a more appropriate location. Hanumanthu highlighted the widespread public support for the protests and pledged BRS solidarity with the advocates.

    Prominent Leaders Show Solidarity

The protest has drawn support from notable public figures, such as Dr. Raghunath Reddy, a senior citizen and well-known doctor. His participation has encouraged young leaders to unite in the cause. BRS leader Basu Hanumanthu Naidu also voiced his support, criticizing the government’s choice of Poodur outskirts for the court complex. Naidu argued that this location would not benefit the Gadwal public and demanded the court be built in the BJP Colony. He assured that the BRS Party would back the Bar Association in any future protests.

    Community Leaders Join the Protest

The movement has also attracted various community leaders, including former District Library Chairman Patel Vishnuvardhan Reddy, senior leaders Angadi Basavaraj, Monesh, Jaya Simha Reddy, Noor Pasha, and others. Youth and activists from the BRS Party have also extended their support, reflecting broad community backing for the cause.

    Public Demand for Justice

The advocates’ call for relocating the court complex to a more accessible and approved site has garnered widespread public support. The Gadwal Bar Association has announced plans for further protests and expressed gratitude to all leaders and citizens who have stood by them in their fight for justice.

    Call for Administrative Action

This ongoing controversy highlights a significant lapse in administrative transparency and public engagement regarding the court complex’s site allocation. While political parties like Congress and BRS have pledged their support, the situation requires immediate government intervention for resolution. The unity demonstrated by advocates, public leaders, and community activists underscores the importance of collaboration in addressing local issues. The question remains whether the administration will act swiftly to resolve this matter and meet the public’s demands.
