Ban on Drone Flights During President’s Visit

The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Avinash Mohanty, has prohibited the use of drones, paragliders, and microlight aircraft in the Alwal police station limits during the President’s visit. This ban will remain in effect until December 21.

Mohanty stated that flying these aerial devices poses serious security risks, including potential attacks by terrorists or anti-social elements. Such activities could endanger public safety and disrupt peace. To mitigate these risks, the police have imposed restrictions within the commissionerate limits.

Violators of the ban will face legal consequences under sections of the law, including Sec 147, 148, 289, and others. The Home Ministry has also issued warnings advising police across states and union territories to restrict drone and paraglider operations near sensitive locations, such as state secretariats and vital installations.

The measure aims to safeguard public safety by preventing any threats posed by remotely-operated aerial platforms during the high-profile visit.
