Residents of Gattu Mandal Accuse Tahsildar of Corruption
Residents of Gattu Mandal in Jogulamba Gadwal district have raised serious complaints against the local Tahsildar, accusing him of widespread corruption and extortion. They claim that bribes are being demanded for nearly every government service.
According to the residents, bribes must be paid for services such as land registrations, obtaining family member certificates, resolving issues on the Dharani portal, inheritance transfers, and even accessing welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi. The amounts allegedly range from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000, depending on the service.
The Tahsildar has been accused of behaving more like a political figure than a public servant. Residents allege that he is exploiting people and damaging the reputation of government schemes designed to help the public.
The affected residents have called on the District Collector to take immediate action. They are demanding the removal of the Tahsildar and the appointment of a more ethical and responsible official. This appeal underscores the urgent need for accountability and transparency in local governance.
If the allegations prove to be true, it could severely harm public trust in administrative systems. Residents are asking for swift action to ensure justice and restore faith in government processes.
