Telangana High Court Denies Allu Arjun’s Plea to Dismiss FIR in Stampede Case
The Telangana High Court has decided not to dismiss the FIR filed against actor Allu Arjun in connection with the tragic stampede at Sadhya Theatre. The incident led to the death of one woman and left several others injured. The court stated it is too early to quash the FIR and suggested that the actor’s legal team file a bail petition instead.
Allu Arjun had approached the High Court, seeking to have the charges against him dropped. His legal team argued that the actor was not directly responsible for the unfortunate incident. They requested the court to dismiss the FIR, which cited charges under Sections 105, 118(1), and 3/5 of the BNS Act.
During the proceedings, the High Court noted that the investigation into the matter is still ongoing. It emphasized that dismissing the FIR at this stage would not be appropriate. The court advised the actor’s team, saying, “They may move a bail petition if they want.”
This decision marks a setback for Allu Arjun, who is currently in judicial custody. Following the court’s suggestion, his legal team is now expected to file a bail application in the coming days. The case continues to garner significant public attention, sparking discussions about crowd management and accountability at events involving high-profile celebrities.
The incident occurred during what was described as an unplanned visit by Allu Arjun to Sadhya Theatre. The visit reportedly caused a stampede, leading to chaos and tragedy. While the actor has maintained his innocence, many of his supporters and peers from the film industry have expressed their support for him.
As the investigation progresses, the case remains in the spotlight, raising questions about how such incidents can be prevented in the future.
