Fake Certificate Scam Uncovered in Nallamala Region
A scam involving fake certificates has been exposed in the Nallamala region of Achampet constituency, located in Nagarkurnool district. A teacher from Sadur mandal, currently working in Shadnagar, has been identified as the key figure behind the operation.
The teacher allegedly began the fake certificate racket during recent recruitment drives for teachers and police, anticipating a high number of postings in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Reports indicate that in Koderu mandal, seven out of ten candidates who appeared for teacher recruitment secured jobs in Ranga Reddy district using forged certificates.
In total, approximately 40 individuals from the Achampet region are believed to have obtained government jobs in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts by using fake certificates. Additionally, over 200 people from districts such as Wanaparthy, Gadwal, Mahbubnagar, and Nagarkurnool reportedly purchased fake certificates, each costing around ₹1 lakh.
The scam came to light after complaints were filed by eligible unemployed candidates in Ranga Reddy district. These candidates alleged that job-seekers from the Achampet region unfairly secured positions using fake credentials. Written complaints were submitted to the district authorities, prompting an official investigation.
Around ten days ago, officials from the Collector’s office in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, along with DEO (District Education Officer) representatives, began probing the racket. During the investigation, it was discovered that the mastermind had even tampered with school records to match the fake certificates. The police are expected to release comprehensive evidence regarding the scam within two days.
Achampet in-charge MEO (Mandal Education Officer) Jeevan Kumar confirmed that senior officials, including the Ranga Reddy DEO and other high-ranking personnel, conducted the investigation. A report has been submitted to the Nagarkurnool collector. Kumar noted that the details of the inquiry are currently confidential.
This case highlights the alarming extent of the fake certificate racket and its potential impact on recruitment processes in government sectors.
