Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the emotional connection the people of Telangana have with “Telangana Mother.” He explained that this concept is not just a symbol but represents the shared feelings of four crore people. The CM announced the unveiling of a statue of Telangana Mother at the state Secretariat.
“The Telangana Mother is more than just an idea; it reflects the emotions of our people,” said CM Revanth Reddy. He expressed hope that the statue would stand as a lasting symbol of Telangana’s spirit for generations to come.
The Chief Minister also noted that, until now, Telangana Mother had not received any official recognition. His government aims to address this and give proper acknowledgment to the concept.
Revanth Reddy mentioned that the statue’s design draws inspiration from key figures in Telangana’s cultural history, such as Chakali Ailamma and Sammakka Saralamma. The statue will feature symbolic elements, including the colors blue and the imagery of the Godavari and Krishna rivers, to represent the state’s rich heritage and identity.
During the Telangana Legislative Assembly sessions, the CM also took the opportunity to wish Sonia Gandhi a happy 78th birthday. “On behalf of the four crore people of Telangana, I extend my warmest birthday wishes to Sonia Gandhi,” he said, acknowledging her strong connection with the state and its people.
