Foundation Stones Laid for Development Projects Worth Rs. 136 Crore in Wanaparthy
State Excise, Tourism, and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, along with Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy, and District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, initiated several development projects worth Rs. 136 crore in Wanaparthy district on Sunday. The event aimed to address infrastructure and public welfare needs in the district.

Key Development Works in Wanaparthy
A foundation stone was laid for a high-level bridge connecting Peddamandadi mandal center to National Highway 44 at Mojarla. This bridge is estimated to cost Rs. 6 crore and will improve connectivity in the region.
To enhance drinking water facilities in Wanaparthy town, another foundation stone was laid for a 5-lakh-liter overhead water tank, with a project cost of Rs. 1.76 crore.
In Indira Colony, foundation stones were laid for the construction of CC roads in wards 5, 18, 19, 20, and 21. These roads will cost an estimated Rs. 50 crore.
Under the Amrut 2.0 scheme, a project worth Rs. 70 crore was initiated to supply water to Wanaparthy town, particularly benefiting residents of Budaga Jangala Colony.

New Facilities for Women and Education
A women’s employee hostel near Marrikunta Medical College was inaugurated. This facility, built at an estimated cost of Rs. 4 crore, aims to provide safe accommodations for working women.
Additionally, a foundation stone was laid for a Mahila Samakhya building near the medical college, with a project cost of Rs. 5 crore.
To improve educational infrastructure, the upper floor of the town’s library and new toilet facilities were planned at a cost of Rs. 1.10 crore.

Speaking at the library office, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted the government’s efforts to restore democracy and make governance accessible. He noted that the fences of Pragati Bhavan had been removed, allowing citizens to meet the Chief Minister directly.
Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi emphasized the scale of the day’s initiatives, stating that development projects worth Rs. 136 crore were launched to improve the lives of Wanaparthy residents. He also announced a mega loan fair on December 21 at the Government Polytechnic College grounds to provide financial assistance to beneficiaries. Additionally, a mega job fair will be organized to help unemployed youth secure jobs.

Support from Banks and Organizations
The State Bank of India pledged to improve basic facilities in hostels of various welfare departments in Wanaparthy. United India Insurance also signed an agreement to provide vocational training for unemployed youth in the district.

Future Development Plans
Local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy expressed pride in the rapid development of Wanaparthy. He highlighted that under the Amrut 2.0 scheme, measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply for the next 25 years. He also mentioned that the launch of these projects coincides with the first anniversary of the current government’s formation.
