Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the State government is working to empower women financially by offering interest-free loans. These loans, amounting to Rs. 20,000 crores annually, aim to help women start and grow their businesses.

Speaking at an exhibition organized by the Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry at Tourism Plaza on Saturday, Bhatti highlighted the government’s ambitious plans for women’s economic empowerment. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the State plans to provide Rs. 1 lakh crore in interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups (SHGs) over five years. This initiative aims to transform women into successful entrepreneurs and industrialists.

The Deputy Chief Minister shared that Minister for Panchayat Raj, Seethakka, is overseeing these programs. She has been actively engaging with women’s groups across districts to monitor progress and provide assistance where needed.

The government firmly believes that women represent prosperity, referring to them as “Mahalakshmi.” Bhatti emphasized that women’s financial independence is crucial for the State’s overall development. He added, “By achieving our goals over the next five years, we hope every woman in Telangana can benefit, become financially independent, and even attain millionaire status.”
