Hyderabad to Host Grand Cultural Celebrations for Congress Government's Anniversary
The city of Hyderabad is gearing up for a two-day cultural extravaganza starting Sunday to mark the one-year anniversary of the Congress government in power. The event, named Prajapalana Vijayotsavalu, will feature a series of vibrant activities and celebrations.
One of the highlights of the event is the unveiling of the new Telangana Talli statue on the Secretariat premises. Other major attractions include a musical concert, a drone show, an air show, and various cultural programs, promising an engaging experience for attendees.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will conclude the celebrations on Monday evening. At 6 PM, he will unveil the Telangana Talli statue and address a public meeting at the Secretariat. The event is expected to draw a crowd of about one lakh people.
The government extended an official invitation to opposition leader and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to attend the statue inauguration. However, sources suggest he is unlikely to participate in the event.
On Sunday, an air show featuring nine Surya Kiran aircraft will take place, starting at 4 PM. To manage the anticipated crowds, police have implemented measures to avoid traffic congestion around the Secretariat.
Special arrangements have been made at Necklace Road and Tank Bund for the air show and cultural performances. Renowned music director Thaman will lead a musical concert, which will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Additionally, a cultural program showcasing Telangana’s rich heritage through folk dances will be performed by over 1,000 artists from across the state.
Food and craft enthusiasts can also look forward to stalls featuring authentic Telangana cuisine and traditional handicrafts. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the entire GHMC region has been illuminated with decorative lights, creating a dazzling backdrop for the celebrations.
