Telangana Pollution Control Board Shuts Down Company for Illegal Effluent Dumping

The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has ordered the closure of Ralpro Techno Crafts LLP in Sangareddy district. The decision, announced on Friday, comes after the company was found illegally transporting and dumping untreated effluents into Nakka Vagu, a local water body.

On November 29, a TGPCB night patrol team caught a tanker discharging effluents near the Ismailkhanpet bridge in Sangareddy. The tanker, which had no registration number, was stopped, but the driver managed to escape. The assistant accompanying the driver was apprehended, and officials found no paperwork or invoices for the material being transported. Tests revealed that the effluent had a high pH level of 12, indicating it was highly alkaline.

Following the incident, TGPCB officials filed a complaint at the Sangareddy rural police station to identify those responsible for the illegal dumping. Upon investigation, they discovered that the effluent sample from the tanker matched samples taken from Ralpro Techno Crafts, located six kilometers from the dumping site.
