Hyderabad is gearing up for a major transformation as the city aims to reach international standards. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled development projects worth Rs 5,827 crore during the “Hyderabad Rising” event held at HMDA Grounds on Necklace Road. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve the city’s infrastructure and quality of life.

The event saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar. During the program, the Chief Minister virtually launched several key projects designed to enhance various aspects of the city.

One of the major projects is H-CITI Phase-1, under which Rs 3,446 crore worth of development works have been approved by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). This initiative promises to bring substantial improvements to the city’s administration and infrastructure.

To beautify Hyderabad’s roads and junctions, Rs 150 crore has been allocated for road beautification efforts. Additionally, Rs 17 crore has been sanctioned for rainwater conservation and flood mitigation to better manage urban flooding.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) will oversee the construction of sewage treatment plants, with Rs 669 crore allocated for the project. This is expected to significantly improve the city’s sewage management and environmental sustainability.

To address water supply issues, 19 new reservoirs will be built at a cost of Rs 45 crore. These reservoirs aim to enhance the availability of drinking water, particularly in areas around the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Road infrastructure is also receiving a major boost. A Rs 1,500 crore package has been announced for road upgrades under the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL), which includes completing several pending projects.

Finally, the city is set to embrace technology with the implementation of AI-powered software for building and layout approvals. This system, scheduled to be operational by February 2025, is expected to make the approval process faster and more efficient.

These ambitious projects mark a significant step forward in Hyderabad’s journey toward becoming a world-class city.
