Hyderabad: Four Arrested in Fatal Altercation Over Petty Issue
The Kukatpally police arrested four individuals on Wednesday in connection with an attack that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man. The incident occurred last Friday and reportedly stemmed from a minor dispute.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Chennaboina Pavan (22), Chennaboina Sridhar (20), Banoth Suresh (19), and Guntuka Ajay Kumar (20). According to the police, the altercation began when Pavan and Sridhar visited a tea stall with two female relatives.
At the stall, the victim, G Ramana (22), was present along with his four friends. Pavan and Sridhar suspected that Ramana and his friends were staring inappropriately at the women accompanying them. This led to a heated argument between Pavan and Ramana.
The argument escalated when Sridhar called his friends Suresh and Ajay Kumar to the scene. Together, the four men attacked Ramana and his group. Ramana suffered internal injuries during the assault but did not seek immediate medical attention.
Unfortunately, Ramana began vomiting the following day due to the injuries and later passed away. K Srinivas Rao, ACP of Kukatpally, confirmed the sequence of events leading to the fatality.
Using footage from surveillance cameras, the police tracked down and arrested Pavan, Sridhar, Suresh, and Ajay Kumar. They have since been remanded into custody.
