    GITAM University Celebrates 76th NCC Day with Pride

    GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, celebrated the 76th National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day on Tuesday. The campus was filled with enthusiasm as students and staff gathered to honor the NCC, the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, which was founded in 1948.

    The event was attended by Professor D S Rao, the pro vice chancellor of GITAM, as the chief guest. Addressing the cadets and participants, Professor Rao praised the NCC for its significant contributions to the nation. He emphasized how the organization fosters discipline, patriotism, and a sense of responsibility among young people. Recalling his own experiences as an NCC cadet, he shared fond memories of building friendships during camps and enjoying simple moments like shared meals.

    During his speech, Professor Rao also highlighted the importance of the NCC motto, “Unity and Discipline,” tying it to the celebration of the 75th Constitution Day. He stated, “In a disciplined nation, we can achieve any milestone we set for ourselves.” Professor Rao urged the cadets to embody these values to help India achieve its goals, such as becoming the world’s third-largest economy, while also addressing challenges like low per capita income.

    He encouraged the cadets to use the qualities they develop in the NCC—discipline and hard work—to improve the standard of living for all citizens. His words inspired the audience and reinforced the importance of the NCC’s role in shaping responsible and patriotic citizens.
