Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Secretary Mohd Saleem congratulated Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on her recent victory. He highlighted that her win, with a massive majority of over 4,10,000 votes, has brought hope and relief to women across the country.

Saleem emphasized that Priyanka Gandhi’s success strengthens the role of women in shaping a new India. He also stated that it poses a significant challenge to the BJP and the leadership of Modi, Shah, Yogi, and Bhagwat. He compared Priyanka’s entry into Parliament to the legacy of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, often referred to as the “Iron Lady.” Indira Gandhi was praised for her pivotal achievements, such as splitting Pakistan into two nations, initiating the Green Revolution, and protecting Indian women through strict laws against dowry harassment and other social evils like sati. Saleem noted that Indira Gandhi championed equal opportunities for women in work, home, and society.

Criticizing the BJP and RSS, Saleem remarked that these organizations have historically failed to encourage women within their ranks. He accused them of treating women as second-class citizens, restricting them to domestic roles, and using superficial incentives to gain votes.
