Nehru Zoological Park Achieves ISO Recognition for the Fifth Year
Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad has reached another milestone by receiving an ISO 9001:2015 certification for the fifth year in a row. This recognition comes from the International Standard Organisation (ISO) for the zoo’s consistent efforts in wildlife conservation and management.
The ISO inspection team evaluated the zoo’s efforts in conserving wildlife, especially endangered species. They looked into areas such as animal care, planned breeding programs, collaborative research projects, and capacity-building initiatives before granting the certification.
On Thursday, A. Sivaiah, Managing Director of HYM International Certification Pvt. Ltd., handed over the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for the year 2024-25. The certification was presented to the zoo administration team, which is led by Dr. Sunil S. Hiremath, Director of Telangana Zoo Parks, and J. Vasanth, Curator of Nehru Zoological Park.
During the event, J. Vasanth expressed pride in the achievement. He highlighted that Nehru Zoological Park is the only zoo in India to receive the ISO 9001:2015 certification. He also assured that the staff will continue to work hard to improve and maintain all the positive initiatives underway at the zoo.
