Controversies Continue at Nizamabad Stamps and Registration Office

The ongoing issues at the Nizamabad Stamps and Registration Office remain unresolved. Despite efforts by authorities to address the situation, the number of registrations has not improved. On Thursday, only seven of the 45 submitted documents were processed at the Nizamabad Sub-Registrar’s office.

The current Sub-Registrar has been strict about document errors, refusing to process files with even minor issues. Many applicants have also reported delays in receiving completed documents, with officials citing pending scanning as the cause.

A heated argument occurred on Thursday between former BJP district president Baswa Lakshminarayana and the Sub-Registrar over the inefficiencies. Despite the confrontation, Lakshminarayana’s document was marked as pending and set aside, further highlighting the office’s slow pace.

The situation at the Nizamabad office has been deteriorating for some time. A dispute between document writers and the Sub-Registrar has been ongoing for several days. The problem seems to have worsened after two Sub-Registrars were transferred to the Nizamabad Urban office earlier this year, leading to sluggish operations.

Document writers have accused the Sub-Registrars of deliberately delaying registrations. They have raised their concerns with government advisor Shabbir Ali and have organized multiple protests alongside real estate agents. To address the issue, a Sub-Registrar from the Nizamabad Rural office was transferred to the Urban office, but the problems persist.

The Nizamabad office handles the highest number of registrations in the district, with over 70 transactions daily, contributing significant revenue to the government. However, document writers claim that Sub-Registrars are prioritizing direct applicants, sparking suspicions about their intentions.

District Registrar Prasoon has defended the office, stating that only error-free and properly prepared documents are being processed. He attributed the ongoing chaos to the Sub-Registrar’s decision to prevent middlemen from operating within the office.

The tensions at the Nizamabad Stamps and Registration Office show no signs of easing, leaving applicants and stakeholders increasingly frustrated.
