Hyderabad: In the ongoing Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste (SEEEPC) Survey, many families are feeling uneasy. This is because the survey workers, known as enumerators, are recording information with pencils. Afterward, they ask the head of the household to sign the final page of the survey with a pen. This has raised concerns among families in the city.

One such incident took place at Alekhya Towers in Bairamalguda, located near Nagarjuna Sagar Ring Road. The situation quickly spread on social media. According to residents, there are over 15 families in the apartment complex who work for DRDO. A resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared that a woman visited the apartment building carrying around 50 survey forms. She was seen writing responses with a pencil and then asking for signatures with a pen. When the families expressed their concerns, the woman left the complex quickly. This caused unrest among the residents, and they requested that the survey workers not return.

The residents further claimed that the enumerator was collecting detailed personal information, such as income, source of income, property, tax returns, how long they had lived in their current apartment, and details about their spouse and children. She also asked about their caste, including BC (Backward Classes), SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), and OC (Open Category).

The residents said that after gathering all this information with a pencil, the lady asked the head of the family to sign the form with a pen. When she couldn’t provide a clear explanation for this, the residents took the survey papers from her, feeling uncomfortable with the process.
