Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has promised to complete the Makthal, Narayanpet, and Kodangal projects on time. He aims to turn the Palamuru district green and reduce migration by improving the region’s water supply and agriculture.
During a visit to Kurumurthy Swamy Temple, sometimes called the “poor man’s Tirumala,” in Ammapur village of Chinnachintakunta mandal, Mahbubnagar district, the Chief Minister spoke to the public. He said he had asked the District Collector to prepare proposals to improve the temple’s facilities. Reddy expressed his gratitude to Lord Venkateswara, the temple’s main deity, for his success in elections.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a 3.7 km ghat road and an elevated corridor at the temple. He shared that the government plans to improve roads and other infrastructure in rural and tribal areas across the district, including laying new BT roads.
The new road project leading to the hilltop Kurumurthy Swamy Temple will cost Rs 110 crore. These new roads and facilities are expected to be completed before the next Brahmotsavam festival, benefiting both the temple and the surrounding area.
In addition, Revanth Reddy announced that Amara Raja Batteries had agreed to hire local, unemployed youth. He added that future industries in the region would offer skill training to help locals find jobs.
Reddy criticized previous leaders for neglecting Mahbubnagar, especially former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). He said that even though KCR represented the district in Parliament during the Telangana movement, he did little to improve it. Reddy also accused KCR of opposing the Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project.
Finally, the Chief Minister asked the Department of Endowments to create development plans for another important temple, Manyamkonda, along with the Kurumurthy temple. He emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of these temples for the region.
