Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender has expressed concern over the decline of extracurricular activities in schools today. He highlighted how, in the past, schools used to offer a range of activities alongside academics. These included programs like PT Master, Dance Master, Drawing Master, Scouts and Guides, and NCC. However, many of these programs have disappeared from schools now.

Speaking at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, which took place at their headquarters in Domalaguda on Saturday, he pointed out how this has affected students. He mentioned that even students entering college often lack the confidence to move forward independently.

According to Rajender, education should not be measured only by grades. It should also include culture, community involvement, interpersonal relationships, and the courage to stand on one’s own in society. He expressed disappointment that these important elements are fading away with the rise of corporate schools.

Rajender praised the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Domalaguda for their contributions over the past 75 years. The organization has helped thousands of children develop a sense of culture. He extended his best wishes to them as they celebrated their Diamond Jubilee and expressed hope that the organization continues to thrive.

He also urged parents and the government to focus on providing children with a global perspective and social consciousness, rather than only emphasizing traditional education.
