Hyderabad: As part of a door-to-door survey to assess the Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste (SEEPC) situation, over 13 lakh houses have been listed in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. Stickers were placed on the doors of these households to mark their participation.
According to the GHMC, the survey started on Wednesday and has been progressing rapidly. In the first phase, details of families were recorded in each enumerator block. The house numbers and names of the family members were noted, and stickers were placed on the doors of the houses to show they had been surveyed. So far, 13,35,673 houses have been listed, and the process is expected to be completed by Friday.
The GHMC officer also mentioned that the second phase of the survey will begin on Saturday, November 9. During this phase, a more detailed house-to-house survey will be conducted. The data collected will remain confidential, and the goal of the survey is to address inequalities and ensure fairness for everyone.
For this large-scale survey, 20,920 enumerators and 1,728 supervisors have been appointed to cover a total of 29,58,277 houses in Greater Hyderabad. During the survey, enumerators will ask questions about various topics, such as caste, employment, education, land ownership, and government loans. They will also inquire about government schemes that families may have benefited from, such as reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Classes (BCs), and Economically Backward Classes (EBCs). Additionally, questions about migration and political involvement will be included in the survey.
