Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to begin a door-to-door caste survey starting on November 6. This survey will cover the entire Greater Hyderabad area, including the Secunderabad Cantonment.
The survey will gather information from 28,28,682 households across both regions. To carry out this large task, GHMC is deploying over 24,000 enumerators. These enumerators include members of Self Help Groups (SHGs), GHMC staff, teachers, and other government workers.
Each enumerator will be responsible for surveying 150 houses, and there will be one supervisor for every 10 enumerators. The enumerators will receive a payment of Rs 10,000, while supervisors will be paid Rs 12,000 for their work.
A senior officer from GHMC mentioned that data entry will be managed at a circle level under the guidance of Deputy Commissioners. While supervisors will oversee the collection of all survey forms, the enumerators will ensure that the data is recorded accurately.
GHMC is urging residents to actively participate in the survey and cooperate with the enumerators to ensure smooth and efficient data collection.
