Kagaznagar: District Collector Venkatesh has called on officials to work together to manage the procurement of kharif paddy. He attended a meeting along with District Additional Collector Deepak Tiwari and Kagaznagar Sub-Collector Shraddha Shukla. The meeting was held at Rythu Vedika in Kautala Mandal Sand Gam Village. Farmers, agriculture officers, managers of paddy purchase centres, and officials from the cooperation department were also present.

During the meeting, the District Collector emphasized the importance of coordination among officials for the smooth purchase of kharif paddy. He announced that 34 centres will be set up across the district to buy paddy from farmers. The officials need to be fully prepared as the grain is expected to arrive after the 15th of this month.

The Collector also stressed the need to inform farmers about the locations and details of these purchase centres. This will help them know where to sell their produce easily.

Additionally, he mentioned that the government is offering a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal for the thin type of paddy grain. The fine type of grain will also receive a bonus, as decided by the qualifier mission. To ensure transparency, a price list of paddy should be displayed at every purchase centre. Finally, the grain should be moved to the assigned rice mills immediately after weighing to avoid delays.
