The Telangana Yadava Vidyawantula Vedika has made a request to the State government regarding the ongoing caste census. They are asking for the word ‘Yadav’ to be added at the end of the names of Yadavs during the census.
According to Chalakani Venkat Yadav, the president of the Vedika, Yadavs have a large population in Telangana. However, he pointed out that despite their numbers, Yadavs face challenges in political, economic, educational, and social aspects. He believes their population has been underestimated, leading to injustice.
With the census survey starting on November 6, Chalakani Venkat Yadav emphasized that including ‘Yadav’ at the end of their names in the census forms will help clarify their population more accurately. He specifically mentioned form number 7, where this information should be recorded.
The Vedika president also urged the census commission to provide clear instructions to the staff. He requested that ‘Yadav’ should be added without including sub-castes like ‘Golla’ in the caste column.
