Karimnagar: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has urged Congress activists to explain the importance of the comprehensive caste enumeration, as promised in the party’s election manifesto, during a house-to-house survey.

On Saturday, a Karimnagar District Congress Party meeting was held under the leadership of DCC President and MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana. During the meeting, the Minister highlighted that the Congress party had committed, in the Kamareddy Declaration, to increase BC reservations after the completion of the caste enumeration.

Prabhakar announced that around 2,500 people would conduct the survey across 3.70 lakh houses in Karimnagar district. He emphasized that the District Congress President and other leaders should form teams with government officials conducting the survey. Leaders from the Indiramma Committee, BC Cell, SC Cell, and other Congress committees will accompany them to inform families about the caste enumeration process.

He also encouraged Congress workers to visit every household, gather any concerns or dissatisfaction from the people, and report them to the government.
