Warangal: Former MLA Nannapuneni Narender criticized the Congress government, saying it is struggling to deliver on the promises it made to come to power. He pointed out that the Congress Party made unrealistic promises, which are now difficult to fulfill.
Narender praised BRS working president K T Rama Rao for his role in stopping the State Government’s proposal to increase power tariffs. He mentioned Rama Rao’s attendance at the public hearing of the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC), which helped prevent the hike. Narender and his party celebrated this success in Warangal on Wednesday.
The former MLA accused the Congress government of planning to raise power tariffs by Rs 18,500 crore, which would have been a heavy burden on the poor and middle-class families. He also expressed concern over the rising prices of essential goods, which has already made life difficult for common people. According to him, an increase in power rates would have worsened the situation.
Narender further highlighted that during BRS’s 10 years in power, the party never increased power tariffs. He praised former Chief Minister KCR for this and emphasized that BRS will continue to stand against what he called Congress’ “anti-people” policies. He also stated that his party will pressure the Congress government until it fulfills its election promises.
Lastly, Narender accused the Congress of diverting people’s attention to hide its failures. He assured that as the main opposition, BRS will actively expose these failures and remind the Congress government to focus on the welfare of the people.
