    Nagar Kurnool: The District Collector, Badavath Santosh, stressed the importance of accuracy in the 21st National Animal Census, which began today in Nagarkurnool. He asked officials and staff to make sure all data is recorded correctly throughout the district.

    On Friday, the Collector launched posters and guidelines for the animal census at his office in Nagarkurnool. He also spoke with Dr. G.V. Ramesh, the district animal husbandry officer, to understand the census process.

    The census will last for four months and will cover 20 mandals and four municipalities. To manage the process, the district has assigned 20 enumerators and 78 supervisors. Each revenue village will have one enumerator responsible for visiting every household. They will count 16 types of animals such as buffaloes, cows, chickens, sheep, and goats. The data will be entered into a mobile app.

    The Collector explained that based on the census data, resources like vaccinations and medicines for disease control will be provided to the animals. He urged cattle owners to cooperate by giving accurate information to the enumerators.

    Several officials attended the event, including District Animal Husbandry Joint Director Dr. G.V. Ramesh, AD Dr. Gnana Shekar, and veterinary staff such as Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Jeevitha, Praveen, Santosh, and Shravani.
