Hyderabad: Telangana’s Panchayat Raj Minister, Dhanasri Anasuya (also known as Seethakka), launched a special job portal on Monday aimed at helping differently-abled individuals find employment. This portal is designed to support people with disabilities in securing jobs based on their qualifications.

During a program at the Secretariat, the Minister handed out appointment letters to ten individuals who secured jobs in the Women Welfare Department. Speaking at the event, Seethakka acknowledged that differently-abled people face more difficulties in finding employment due to fewer opportunities and the need to compete with others. She emphasized that disabilities are often beyond a person’s control and, in some cases, can be caused by a lack of nutritious food.

Seethakka explained that the government decided to launch this website to provide more job opportunities for people with disabilities. She urged private employers to offer reservations for the differently-abled and encouraged them to use the portal to hire qualified candidates.

The Minister also mentioned that the government has allocated five percent of welfare funds for the disabled and increased the reservation for differently-abled individuals in private employment from one percent to four percent. She added that the government has extended the reservation system for people with disabilities to various welfare schemes, such as the Indiramma Housing scheme. This year, Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the welfare of disabled individuals.
