Hyderabad: The BC Commission has decided to travel across the State as part of the ‘Caste Survey.’ They will hold public hearings in all ten headquarters of the combined districts. This decision was made during a meeting at their office in Khairatabad on Monday. The meeting discussed the next steps based on orders from the Telangana government, which were issued on October 9. These orders outlined what the Commission needed to do.

Sandeep Kumar Sultania, the Principal Secretary of the Planning Department, attended the meeting as a special guest. He informed the Commission about the preparations being made for the Caste Survey. The survey will be conducted under the supervision of the BC Commission, with coordination between different departments.

One of the tasks for the BC Commission is to determine the percentage of reservations that should be given to Backward Classes in local bodies. To help with this, the Commission will tour the entire State and hold public hearings at the headquarters of the ten old districts. The tour is set to begin on October 24, and the Commission will soon release an official announcement about it.

In addition to the public hearings, the Commission wants to gather opinions from all sections of society. They plan to hold a special consultation meeting with intellectuals from the Backward Classes to hear their views.
