Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka Inaugurates 2.5 MW Power Plant in Bhadradri Kothagudem

Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, inaugurated a 2.5 megawatt power plant at the Ashwaraopet Palm Oil Factory. This plant, built at a cost of ₹36.5 crores, is a significant step towards increasing green energy in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

During the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka expressed his happiness about the plant opening. He said, “This is the first Vijayadashami after the Indiramma Rajyam Congress Party came to power. We promise to support the government in helping the people of the state succeed. The opening of this power plant as a Dussehra gift brings joy to our community.”

Vikramarka highlighted the importance of moving towards renewable energy, saying, “The world is shifting from thermal power to green power. We are committed to producing 20,000 megawatts of green energy in Telangana over the next five years.”

He also mentioned the efforts of Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy, who started palm oil cultivation in the state in 1990. Vikramarka explained that the government has increased customs duty on palm oil imports by 28% and implemented a support price for local palm oil.

Under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the government has dedicated significant funds to various projects, allocating ₹73,000 crores. Vikramarka proudly noted that the government has already waived ₹18,000 crores in loans for two lakh farmers within just 15 days of coming into power.

Addressing criticism from former BRS rulers, Vikramarka emphasized, “While they waived some loans, we are fully committed to supporting farmers. We will waive the remaining loans and ensure that the government covers farmers’ crop insurance premiums.”

Looking ahead, Vikramarka talked about plans to introduce pilot projects for solar pump sets in agriculture and install solar panels on homes with government support. He announced a new solar project that will focus on two villages in the Ashwaraopet area, reinforcing the state’s commitment to renewable energy.

Vikramarka concluded by reassuring the farmers that the government would resolve any technical issues related to loan waivers, affirming their commitment to improving the farming experience and supporting agricultural communities in Telangana.
