Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has filed a criminal defamation case in the Nampally court against Forest Minister Konda Surekha. He is seeking criminal action against her for making defamatory remarks. Earlier, he had already sent her a legal notice, asking for a public apology.

In his petition, KT Rama Rao (KTR) stated that Surekha made false and damaging comments about him with bad intentions. He believes her remarks were part of a planned effort to harm his public image. KTR pointed to video recordings broadcasted on news channels and reports in newspapers as evidence of her statements.

KTR further explained that Surekha’s comments were made repeatedly and on purpose, with the goal of defaming him. He suggested that she was trying to get cheap publicity by creating sensational news to help her political career. According to him, there was no good faith or public interest behind her words.

Additionally, KTR mentioned that Surekha had made similar baseless claims during the Lok Sabha elections. At that time, the Election Commission had warned her for making unfounded statements. He urged the court to treat her repeated, unproven remarks as criminal offenses and take action.
